1. Company Information
Sewjo is a digital platform designed to help sewists organize their stash, track projects, and connect with the sewing community. Sewjo operates independently and is legally based in Canada (Vancouver, BC). These Terms & Conditions apply to all users worldwide.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Sewjo. If you are under 16, you may only use Sewjo with the express consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
By using Sewjo, you represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
Sewjo reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts at its sole discretion if users violate these terms.
3. User Accounts
Users must create an account to access Sewjo features.
Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials and any activities occurring under their accounts.
Users may create accounts using email/password or approved third-party login providers such as Google, Facebook, or Apple (if enabled). When using a third-party login, Sewjo only accesses basic profile information (e.g., name and email) required to create and manage your account.
If unauthorized access occurs, users must immediately notify Sewjo.
Sewjo reserves the right to terminate accounts for any conduct that violates these Terms & Conditions, is harmful to the community, or is otherwise inappropriate.
4. User-Generated Content (UGC)
Ownership: Users retain ownership of any content they upload, including images, reviews, and stash information.
License: By uploading content, users grant Sewjo a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sublicensable license to display, use, and distribute content within the app and related promotional materials.
Restrictions: Users may not upload copyrighted materials (such as pattern PDFs) into public sections of the app. Any copyrighted materials must be stored privately.
Images of Pattern Packaging and Embedded Images: Sewjo allows users to upload their own images, including photos of finished projects and pattern packaging, as part of the stash and pattern-sharing features.
Users acknowledge that pattern packaging and related artwork may be protected by copyright, and uploading such images is permitted for reference and identification purposes only. Sewjo does not claim ownership of any pattern artwork, logos, or copyrighted images displayed in user-uploaded content.
Where possible, Sewjo uses embedded images or preview links directly from the original pattern source (such as the pattern company's website). Embedded images are not hosted by Sewjo and remain the property of the original copyright holder. If an embedded image becomes unavailable, a placeholder image may be displayed instead.
Pattern designers or copyright holders who wish to request the removal of embedded images or user-uploaded pattern packaging photos can contact Sewjo directly at hi@sewjo.app or use the reporting tools within the app.
Sewjo respects intellectual property rights and reserves the right to remove images at the request of rights holders.
Liability & Indemnification: Users are solely responsible for their content and agree to indemnify and hold Sewjo harmless against any claims or damages resulting from copyright violations, misrepresentation, or unauthorized content uploads.
Repeat Offender Policy: Users who repeatedly violate intellectual property rights may have their accounts suspended or permanently terminated.
Content Moderation: Sewjo reserves the right to remove or modify content that violates these terms, including but not limited to offensive, misleading, illegal, or inappropriate content.
Content set to Public may be visible to other users of the platform. Once content is publicly visible, Sewjo cannot control how other users interact with it outside the platform. Users are encouraged to choose privacy settings that reflect their comfort level.
4.1 External Website Content
Users may reference links to publicly available external websites within Sewjo for personal use.
Sewjo does not store or host copies of third-party website images. Content from external websites is displayed by referencing the original source URL.
Sewjo does not control or modify third-party website content and is not responsible for its availability, accuracy, or legality.
If the original content is removed from the source website, it will no longer be visible within Sewjo.
Sewjo does not claim ownership of third-party content and respects intellectual property rights. If you believe that content referenced within Sewjo infringes your rights, please contact us at hi@sewjo.app and we will review and respond promptly.
Users are responsible for ensuring they have the right to share or reference any third-party content within Sewjo.
4.2 Visibility & Follower-Based Access
Sewjo allows users to control the visibility of their content through feature-level and element-level privacy settings (such as Public, Followers (mutual), or Private).
Visibility settings are dynamic. Changes to privacy settings or follower relationships may immediately affect who can access certain content.
Sewjo operates on a follower-based model. Certain content may be visible only to users who both follow each other ("mutual followers"). Following another user does not automatically grant access to restricted content unless the relationship is mutual and the content is configured accordingly.
Sewjo does not guarantee continued access to any user-generated content, and access may change based on privacy settings, follower relationships, moderation decisions, or platform updates.
Users are solely responsible for selecting appropriate privacy settings for their content. Sewjo is not responsible for disputes between users regarding content visibility or access.
5. Future Paid Plans
At present, Sewjo is a free platform. In the future, Sewjo reserves the right to introduce paid plans and premium features.
Users will be notified of any pricing changes, and continued use after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
Refund policies, if applicable, will be outlined upon introduction of paid features.
6. AI Features & Accuracy
Sewjo may include AI-powered features (such as ChatGPT-based assistance).
AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes only. Users should verify any AI-generated responses before relying on them.
No Liability for AI Content: Sewjo is not responsible for errors, biases, or inaccuracies in AI-generated content, and users acknowledge they must independently verify AI outputs.
7. Data Collection & Privacy
Sewjo collects personal information such as names, email addresses, profile details, images, and purchase data in order to provide essential functionality, such as storing user-created content, enabling account access, and improving app usability. This data is required to ensure that users can securely save and retrieve their stash, preferences, and activity within the app.
Sewjo does not sell personal data but may share information with third-party service providers for analytics, integration, and user experience improvements.
Cookies & Tracking: Sewjo may implement cookies and tracking tools for analytics, personalization, and advertising. Users will be notified if this policy changes.

However, we ensure that we work only with trusted providers that adhere to high privacy and security standards.

Sewjo is provided "as-is" and "as available." Users assume all risks associated with its use.
Sewjo disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to any express or implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted service.
Sewjo, its employees, officers, directors, affiliates, and service providers are not liable for:
Any direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, including but not limited to physical injury, loss of data, lost profits, emotional distress, or other damages arising from or related to the use or inability to use the app, even if Sewjo has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Financial losses or any other damages resulting from any use of the app by the user, other users, or non-users, including but not limited to reliance on information within the app, errors, omissions, or misuse of any feature.
Security breaches, unauthorized access, cyberattacks, hacking, or data loss beyond our reasonable control. While Sewjo implements industry-standard security measures, we do not guarantee that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat our security measures. Users acknowledge that they provide their information at their own risk. Sewjo does not warrant or guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any content, including but not limited to AI-generated responses, pattern recommendations, or community posts. Users are responsible for independently verifying any information before relying on it.
Any failures, inaccuracies, data breaches, pricing errors, or policies of third-party services, including but not limited to Shopify, AI tools, analytics providers, and other external services. Users interact with third-party services entirely at their own risk and are responsible for reviewing their respective terms and privacy policies.
Users are responsible for managing their own privacy settings. Sewjo cannot be held responsible for outcomes resulting from users choosing to make content visible to others.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is not permitted by applicable law.
10. Termination & Changes
Sewjo reserves the right to modify, discontinue, or remove features at any time without liability. Sewjo has no obligation to maintain, update, or provide ongoing support for any feature or service. Sewjo does not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. Users acknowledge that service disruptions may occur.
Users will be notified of significant changes to these Terms & Conditions.
Violations of these Terms & Conditions, including but not limited to inappropriate behavior, misuse of features, copyright infringement, or security threats, may result in temporary restrictions, content removal, or permanent account termination. Sewjo will assess violations on a case-by-case basis and may provide warnings or opportunities to correct behavior before taking action, unless the violation is severe or unlawful.
11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada.
Disputes must be resolved through binding arbitration to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, except where local laws prohibit arbitration.
Any claims must be filed within one (1) year of the occurrence or will be considered waived.
